Christopher Nolan recently confounded and impressed audiences with his latest film, Inception. I'm not all that psyched about it, and I'll tell you why.Check out my blog at http://ryan-rates.tumblr.comNote: - Inception trailer copyright to WB- Applause clip taken from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEAVBsGd3gc- BP oil rig leak clip taken from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-rJH9xB7fk

Sep 5, 2010 - even citizen kanes rosebud whisper gets ripped off at the end with the "dissapointed" whisper.
alanfunkle Says:
Sep 5, 2010 - if youve seen the trailer youve seen the movie is why inception sucked lol.end of rant.
alanfunkle Says:
Sep 5, 2010 - and no nolan isnt visionary with batman, saying tim burton isnt dark enough for batman is like saying elton john isnt gay enough for gaydom.
alanfunkle Says:
Sep 5, 2010 - cant get any creepier or darker than a tim burton movie lol.double end of rant. nice review.

Sep 5, 2010 - @scihizium i hate christopher nolans movies, micheal bay (except for the rock), j.j. abrams, mc g. and i hate brain singer for superman returns lol. i notice every time a nolan film comes out something simliar comes out (example prestige/the illusionist) leading me to believe nolan doesnt have an original idea in his body.
scihizium Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - @alanfunkle i know wat u mean i just got to the point in the film wer i didnt care ther was no drama or suspence. its the mosted overated thing i think ive ever seen in my life. complete bollocks
alanfunkle Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - @scihizium yeah first i had batman begins and dark knight to hate for being overrated, now i have this lol. its pretty obvious nolan is just a studiohead rich dude that got lucky remaking movies.i'll have to say though nolan fanboys are some of the most obnoxious assholes i have ever met online.i dont get ranked on for hating star trek or star wars (love those just an example) but for some reason nolan fanboys think its ok to rip a critics bunghole like theyll get respect lol.
alanfunkle Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - @scihizium largely it felt like i was watching shutter island all over again with the imaginary wife, distorted reality, etc. lol mixed with other various films.

Sep 6, 2010 - This movie was amazing!! Inception left a perfect ending to let us beleive what we want!!! Think about it, it looked like it was gonna fall! But did it??? That is so cool!! And also the intelligence to write that script is so unbeleivable!!! It took me 3 times to understand this movie but once I saw it the third time it all makes so much sense!!! Chris Nolan is brilliant!!!

Sep 6, 2010 - Its funny that people think that this movie is so intellectual. There is nothing to get people! Also why do people compare it to other open ended films, this issue is if you choose to think he is still in a dream or limbo it just negates everything you just watch. How can people be ok with this? Momento and The Prestige shit all over this!
chiffmonkey Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - I don't get why you were disappointed? You don't even give a good explanation...The top doesn't continue spinning, the film ends before you can see. It's just a 'kick' to wake you out of the world of the film. That trailer tells you almost nothing about the film. For a start it doesn't even mention what inception is... Cobb's way of getting out of limbo killed his wife, not exactly easy... It doesn't take him 20 years to figure out the idea, it took 20 years to decide whether it was right.
chiffmonkey Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - Yes you do need to see the van freefalling, it keeps the film confined to the different dream planes so that when they wake up on the plane you've almost forgotten it. The ending annoyed you? Well you annoy me but I'm still commenting you. He doesn't look at the top because he doesn't want to know. It no longer matters to him, a bit like the ending (beginning?) of memento. The actual result of the totem doesn't need to be shown. And even if it was a dream, why was it a waste of your time?
Griffo277 Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - @chiffmonkey the fact that it cuts before the top falls is what the issue is. Did anyone see the top fall? NO, thus leaving the implication that it still maybe a dream. The are just to many tangents to say what is wrong and what is right and this is why it is a poor script.
chiffmonkey Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - Why is it any less 'real' than Cobb's life with Mal? I thought Ellen Page (and all the cast) suited the roll really well, didn't realise she was typecast already. The ending is a perfect ending. I was grinning when the camera panned out because it was such a neat conclusion to an amazing film wrapping up the whole plot in a nutshell. "The dream is real."
antoniopitter Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - dude the movie doesnt say if it was a dream or not
SUPERAPE22 Says:
Sep 6, 2010 - @Griffo277 Thank you.
ssjdopey Says:
Sep 7, 2010 - @chiffmonkey its a waste of time (for me atleast) because it holds no value being a dream. i couldn't take it seriously. None of it actually happened, atleast in reality. you even metioned memento. I feel like nothing new was added, just story characteristics from past films. The architect... matrix reloaded, the dream might be reality or vice versa... total recall. manipulating architecture while someones sleeping... Dark city
ssjdopey Says:
Sep 7, 2010 - @chiffmonkey at 1st i was upset cause i thought i was retarded for not praising it like the majority of people. That i missed something... but nope, i almost feel like its got this protection over it for criticism because of how deep the plot goes and the complexity. That doesnt make the story better though, besides it basically told the story 3 times but doing that didnt make it better. If some1 insults this film, it seems like they're not smart enough to comprehend...
ssjdopey Says:
Sep 7, 2010 - @chiffmonkey I actually think the plot was made to be so confusing so it'd appear intelligent. Idk i read the plot twice after watching and still... what was the point? i didn't care... maybe i'm a heartless bastard but i hated it from begining to end. yes the action was cool but you needed stuff to back it up... and it did, but it wasnt the right stuff.... if that makes sense... btw was they're even an antagonist!?!?!?!
chiffmonkey Says:
Sep 7, 2010 - @ssjdopey For you it holds no value being a dream, what I'm asking is why you think that? Would you hold all that went on during the mission in all the different dream levels as having no value if the real world is real? And we're not talking the whole film in a dream anyway. We see Cobb use his totem to prove reality at least once before the mission. The question is whether or not he escaped limbo.
chiffmonkey Says:
Sep 7, 2010 - @ssjdopey The antagonist is Cobb, or rather his subconcious.
chiffmonkey Says:
Sep 7, 2010 - And you keep saying things to the effect of 'it was all a dream'. No, it MAY have been. The film ends just before the confirmation. For all we know maybe after it went black the top fell over.
teamairsoftops Says:
Sep 8, 2010 - the movie was awsome u have no idea what ur talking about
teamairsoftops Says:
Sep 8, 2010 - the movie was awsome u have no idea what ur talking about an the top was made to make you think is it going ti fall or not notice how it was shaking ur channel fails

alanfunkle Says:
Sep 5, 2010 - the dream within a dream took away the sense of danger and suspense out of the movie, ive seen other better films than this, had i seen it 10-15 years ago i would have liked it but was not only horribly unimpressed i think nolan fanboys are the biggest assholes in the world and wont go see another nolan film after dealing with inception fanboys lol. inception felt like a collage remake of shutter island, dark city (landscape changing powers), dreamscape, nightmare on elm street (dream vs.reality
